The one About The Stand-in Gorilla (대역고릴라)
When a zoo’s gorilla dies, the zookeeper hires an actor to don a costume and act like an ape 


until the zoo can get another one.

In the cage, the actor makes faces, swings around, and draws a huge crowd.

He then crawls across a partition and atop the 
lion's cage, infuriating the animal.

But the actor stays in character—until he loses his grip and falls into the lion's cage.

Terrified, the actor shouts, "Help! Help me!" Too late.

The lion pounces, opens 
its massive jaws, and whispers,

"Shut up! Do you want to get 
us both fired?!"

 

동물원의 고릴라가 그만 죽고 말았다. 
새 고릴라가 준비될 동안 사육사는 배우 한 명을 고용해 변장을 시키고 유인원 시늉을 하게 했다.
우리 안에 들어간 배우는 갖가지 표정으로 사방팔방 흔들어대며 많은 관람객을 끌어모았다.
사자를 흥분시키며 칸막이를 가로질러 사자 우리 꼭대기로 기어 건너간 그, 
굳세게 고릴라 역을 해내고 있었는데
아뿔싸, 손이 미끄러져 그는 그만 사자 우리 안으로 떨어지고 만다.

두려움에 떨며 "사, 사람 살려!" 소리쳐보지만, 너무 늦었다.
사자는 거대한 이빨을 드러내며 그를 덮쳤다. 그리곤 속삭였다.
"쉿, 입 다물어!  우리 둘 다 해고당하게 하려고 그래?!"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wrinkle Cream (주름 크림)
My nine-year-old daughter walked in while I was getting ready for work.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Putting on my wrinkle cream," I answered.
"Oh," she said, walking away. "I thought they were natural."

 

출근준비를 하고 있는데 9살배기 딸아이가 들어온다.
"엄마 짐 뭐하는 중야?"
"주름 크림 바르는 중이지."
"아항," 딸아이가 나가며 말했다, "난 또 그 주름들이 전부 진짜인 줄 알았지."
 
* wrinkle reducing cream / anti wrinkle cream (주름 억제 크림)을
대개 줄여서 wrinkle cream(주름 크림)이라 부르는데 아이가 이를 곧이곧대로 이해한 것.

Teeth Cleaning (이 청소)
The sight of my mother cleaning her dentures fascinated my young son.

He sat riveted as she carefully took them out, brushed and rinsed them, and then popped them back in.

"Cool, Grandma!" he said. "Now take off your arm."

 

친정엄마 틀니 닦는 모습에 매료된 울 어린 아들내미.
그 옆에 딱 달라붙어 앉아
할머니가 틀니를 꺼내 솔로 문지르고 헹궈낸 다음 다시 입안으로 쏙 집어넣는 모습을 지켜보곤 하는 말,
"와 멋져요, 그랜마! 그럼 이제 팔도 빼서 함 해보세요."
